Entry Procedure and Key Safe
The key to the house is located in the lock box at the back door. One key does the back door and the basement door. The Patio doors have an internal lock. The key is to remain in this safe at all times when you exit the house.
A key safe code will be sent as an SMS to your registered mobile number two days before the start of your stay.
Once inside you will then need to turn on the hot water, stove and fridge. These 3 switches are located above the stove in the kitchen.
A fee of $100 will be charged if you lose this key or are locked out and need assistance for entry.
Linen and Laundry
All linen is provided. Tablecloths can be found with the tea towels in the drawers in the kitchen. There are wool blankets in the blanket box in bedroom number 3.
An iron and ironing board is in the wardrobe in the bunk room. If you need extra linen, you will find more sheets and pillow cases in the shelves of the wardrobe in the 3rd bedroom (the bunkroom) as well as waterproof kids sheets. Extra towels are under the sink in the bathroom and tea towels are in the kitchen drawers next to the stove.
At the end of your stay please leave all towels, bed linen and kitchen linen in the orange and green laundry bags in the basement for collection by our laundry service.
Rubbish and Recycling
Bin bags are located under the kitchen sink for the kitchen foot-pedal bin next to the fridge. All household rubbish that is not recylcable is to go in the outside red lid bin. Please
recycle all glass jars and bottles into the blue bin (no lids). The yellow bin is for paper, cardboard and plastics (including plastic bottles). You are not required to clean the house but if you need a vacuum cleaner at any time it is under one of the twin beds in bedroom one.
This rubbish system is different to that in Australia so please make sure you put the right things in the right bins.
Log Burner
There is kindling in the metal box to the left of log burner along with paper and fire lighters and wood in the wood baskets. Matches can be found in the little treasure chest on the mantel. For extra wood please read below.
Please leave all ashes in the log burner upon exit.
Firewood
Extra wood and kindling for the log burner is located in a storage area beneath the patio. To access this go via the driveway. There is a wheelbarrow for you to use to transport the wood up to the patio.
Please ensure you secure the door of the wood room when you have collected the wood.
Please make sure you re-stock the wood both in the house wood basket and on the patio basket, and kindling in the metal box before you leave.
Washing Machine
The Washing Machine is downstairs in the basement. The power switch is located in the centre of the workbench. There are pegs and a basket to hang out washing on the line in the summer
and clothes racks for winter to dry inside if it's too cold. Clothes racks are stacked next to the toilet in the basement.
Do not touch the red and blue drain levers above the toilet or near the hot water system to the left of the door.
Cleaning and Toilet Consumables
We have a supply of normal household cleaning and toilet consumables for your stay. However, if you run out please restock as required for your use. A first aid kit can be found in the cupboard under the sink in the bathroom.
Bedroom Heaters
There are panel heaters in each bedroom. They run on a self timer and will turn off automatically after a certain time period after being turned on.
Do not drape clothing over the heaters in the bedrooms. There are heated towel rails for drying towels in the bathroom.
BBQ
There’s a barbecue on the patio with a gas bottle for use. Spare gas bottles can be found in the basement past the toilet.
It is your responsibility to clean the BBQ and make sure the cover is on securely before you leave.
A cleaning fee $50 will be charged if you leave the barbecue dirty upon exit.
Parking
You can park anywhere around the back of the house on the driveway. Do not park on the grass or block the driveway for other cars to turn around at the top of the driveway.
Most of the time there will be a blue Mitsubishi Pajero four-wheel-drive parked at the house. This is the owner‘s vehicle and is not for tenants' use.
